KMEX-TV Scores Big With Key Opening Round Matches Of 2002 World Cup.

Univision Communications Los Angeles owned and operated KMEX-TV posted great ratings for its broadcasts of the Opening Round matches of the 2002 World Cup. Ratings highlights include the following:
· KMEX-TV’s broadcast of the World Cup match between Mexico vs. Croatia on Sunday night, June 2nd (11:15 p.m. to 1:30 a.m.) scored a huge 31.6 NHSI rating with a 65 share among Hispanic Households in Los Angeles. The match posted a higher average rating among L.A. Hispanic homes than the Lakers crucial playoff games against the Sacramento Kings that aired earlier in the evening. The basketball game on KNBC averaged a 31.0 NHSI rating with a 52 share from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. (Each NHSI rating point represents 15,734 Hispanic homes in Los Angeles.)
· On Saturday night, KMEX-TV’s broadcast of the Argentina vs. Nigeria match (10:15 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.) posted a 23.4 NHSI rating with a 43 share among Hispanic Households in Los Angeles.
· During these two key World Cup matches, KMEX-TV was the highest rated station in Los Angeles, regardless of language, according to Nielsen’s NSI general market household ratings.
