La Alianza De Fútbol Hispano Founded To Unite National Latino Soccer Leagues.

For the first time ever a national umbrella organization will bring together Latino soccer leagues in the U.S. La Alianza de Fútbol Hispano will unite and support the hundreds of thousands of Latinos playing on amateur, but highly-competitive, local soccer leagues across the country. La Alianza de Fútbol Hispano will bring together and showcase the talents of Hispanic amateur soccer teams nationwide through sponsored tournaments that will ultimately crown the best Latino team in the United States at the Copa Lowe’s Nacional in Los Angeles.

“Through La Alianza de Fútbol Hispano we will be able to identify the best of the best Hispanic talent in the country, and even provide them with high-level competition against professional teams from Mexico,” said Bill Stroube, CEO of La Alianza de Fútbol Hispano. “It’s been a long time coming and we are excited to be a part of such a necessary venture that will undoubtedly be considered the elite amateur Hispanic tournament in the United States.”

Copa Lowe’s Nacional

La Alianza’s debut tournament kicked off Labor Day weekend in Fresno. Tournaments in Houston, Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles and New York are scheduled to follow. The qualifying tournaments will culminate in the Copa Lowe’s Nacional championship in Los Angeles from Jan.18-23, 2005 at East Los Angeles College. The six regional tournament champions and two U21 professional soccer teams from Mexico, including Club Deportivo Guadalajara (Chivas), will face off in what is poised to be a truly unique, competitive event with $25,000 in prize money.

The Copa Lowe’s Nacional marks the first time that that the top Latino amateur soccer leagues in the U.S. will compete against two of Mexico’s premiere teams. With the combined talent of the six teams, hard-core soccer fans will be treated to some of the finest play ever witnessed in the U.S.

Local Tournaments Across the Country

Six tournaments across the country currently make up the La Alianza de Fútbol Hispano schedule. Each tournament will have a festival atmosphere with music, food, games for kids, raffle prizes including soccer balls and Mexican Olympic team jerseys and much more.
