La Alianza de Fútbol Hispano kicks-off 2007 Tournament Season.

La Alianza de Fútbol Hispano officially announced the schedule of the 2007 Copa Alianza (previously known as Copa Lowe’s). Copa Alianza, a series of local and regional soccer tournaments scheduled to take place from June through December in ten cities throughout the United States, will kick off the 2007 season on June 9th in New York (see schedule below). The Copa Alianza national tournament series showcases the top adult, Hispanic amateur teams in the country and provides a unique opportunity for corporate marketers to reach hundreds of thousands of Hispanic soccer players and their families throughout the United States.

“Our tournament and its prestige have continued to grow year-over-year,” said Richard Copeland, Alianza’s President and CEO. “Alianza has become a great forum for corporate marketers to reach the burgeoning U.S. Hispanic market in a meaningful way. Over 90 percent of respondents to our consumer surveys indicated a positive effect on their perception of our sponsors and increased consideration of their products and services as a result of their sponsorship of Alianza.”

This year’s local tournaments will take place in nine of the same cities as in 2006, with Washington D.C. hosting a local qualifier for the first time. The local tournaments will showcase the top teams from the Hispanic amateur men’s soccer leagues in each market. The local tournament champions will in turn be competing for the title “Best Hispanic Amateur Team” in the country. More than $90,000 in prize money and awards will be offered in 2007 throughout the series of tournaments.
