La Costena launches ‘Traditions Your Way’ Contest.

La Costena’s “Traditions Your Way” contest is searching the nation to recognize those who reinvent and enhance time-honored recipes. From July 4 to August 27, contestants are encouraged to submit a video at www.traditionsyourway.com that conveys how they add their modern twist to a traditional meal with the help of La Costena. A grand prize winner will get a trip for two to a four-day, three-night culinary retreat at a luxury hotel resort in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

“The ‘Traditions Your Way’ contest acknowledges that in the modern world we add our own style to traditional dishes to create a delicious fusion of flavors,” said Patricia Lopez, La Costena’s Solution Maker. “La Costena’s versatile and extensive line of products, such as peppers, salsas, beans, mole and mayonnaise, also shortens the cooking time needed to prepare meals for your everyday life, as well as special occasions and celebrations. Everyone benefits when you cook with a variety of high-quality products that are customizable to your needs, are easy to use, and can be shared with your family and friends,” said Patricia Lopez.

An additional top ten runner-ups will each receive a $50 cash card. Qualified video entries will be posted on the La Costena’s “Traditions Your Way” contest page, www.traditionsyourway.com, and La Costena’s social media sites. For a chance to win, all video entries should express originality, creativity, and passion and enthusiasm for adding a modern twist to traditional meals.

On the contest’s website, Lopez shares an example of her modern twist on a traditional black bean salad. “My dish is a healthy, refreshing and tasty recipe for the summer, and it is very easy and convenient to make,” Lopez said. “My modern touches are to use ready-to-eat La Costena black beans – the ultimate option for my busy lifestyle – and to add diced mangos – a popular fruit that adds taste and style to many recipes. I also spice up the traditional vinaigrette dressing by infusing serrano peppers in the olive oil before adding the dressing to the salad!”
