‘La Familia Perfecta’ Set To Debut @ mun2 television.

Five talented young Latinos looking to make names for themselves in the competitive music industry will be followed by the cameras of Perfect Image Film and Video Production for a new reality series set to air on mun2 television in March, 2005. The original series, “La Familia Perfecta” will reveal the frustrations, sacrifices, and triumphs encountered by the many young people who choose to pursue the dream of becoming a successful recording artist. The five participants will also struggle for the support and appreciation of their own families in an effort to balance traditional Latino family values with their own ambitions.

The show represents a departure from traditional reality television. Rather than a televised competition, where viewers and judges select a final winner, the five young people in different stages of their musical careers will be followed closely, revealing how each individual’s life is impacted by the pursuit of success in the recording industry.

“Our behind-the-scenes approach to this show is unique,” said Yolanda Foster, Vice President of Programming and Promotions for mun2. “The audience will get to know these five artists as if they were their next-door-neighbors, and because they represent young Latinos from a wide variety of backgrounds, music genres and U.S. cities, viewers will connect with them in a very special way.”

Perfect Image Film and Video Production President and CEO Anthony Perez, who created the concept behind the reality-based show, called his production “a development that is sure to transform the face of Spanish-language music-oriented programming.” “Our intention is to present the public the genuineness – triumphs and struggles that each artist experiences in their road to success,” he added.

The highlight of the show will come at the end, with the production of ‘La Familia Perfecta’ CD, thus creating a perfect music family.

La Familia Perfecta Cast

The five participants for “La Familia Perfecta” were selected after a national search took place in which interested individuals would forward their material for consideration. More than 100 candidates responded. “La Familia Perfecta” is composed of Domenic Marte (Bachata); Jackie (Reggaeton), Don Abusivo (Hip-Hop/Urban Regional), Ana Alicia (Urban Regional), and Nipo (Hip Hop).

Ana Alicia

A musician’s daughter, Ana Alicia’s singing and songwriting talents are in her genes. After years of writing and composing songs, she had her first professional experience in the world of music with a regional Mexican/Norteño group called “Las Margaritas.” This experience led to her first solo album titled “AnaAliciándome,” a hybrid of hip hop, regional Mexican and pop music. Her acting career began with a full scholarship from the highly prestigious Centro de Educación Artística de Televisa in Mexico City. This great opportunity led to many open doors, such as being featured on “Protagonistas de Novela,” a Telemundo reality show. Ana Alicia has body doubled for Jennifer Lopez on commercials and feature films. She has lived in Los Angeles for the past four years.

Domenic Marte

Domenic Marte, a bachata musician born in Boston and raised in Lawrence, developed an interest for music at an early age. Now 26, he has worked alongside many high-profile figures in the industry, doing videos and backup singing for top stars like Jennifer Lopez and Thalía. Domenic Marte, whose ethnic roots find their homes in the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico, just had a big break with a record deal for his first solo album titled “Roses for You,” released by JVN Records on October 2004.

Don Abusivo

Don Abusivo, a young Los Angeles native, has made real strides in the Regional Urban genre with his Universal Music Latino debut and an album titled “Alcen sus Copas… con Don Abusivo.” This album’s title song, “Sin Ti,” is currently airing on radio. Born Victor Pérez to a family from Zacatecas, Mexico, this young rapper was named Abusivo by his buddies who admired his musical talent. He then chose Don and formed his now popular stage name.

Jackie

Jackie, a native of Puerto Rico, really knows the meaning of two words: challenges and perseverance. As a young teenager, she nursed her dying mother. While trying to build a name for herself in the music industry, an unplanned pregnancy detoured her from professional goals. But she has persevered with her artistic dreams. In fact, she has performed with DJ Eric, Big Boy and Don Omar. She has also participated in many compilations like “Industria I”, “Industria II” and “Los Más Buscados”. She was also featured in Jamz Vol. 1 with her song “Voy Pa Ya”. Now 27, she resides in Caguas, Puerto Rico but recently relocated temporarily to Miami for the production of her CD. She is also pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in social work.

Nipo

Nipo, a native of the Dominican Republic, has embraced Latin Hip Hop as his signature genre. One of the hottest rappers in his native country with a hit single titled “Amantes”, he moved to Flushing Queens, New York almost a year ago and is now working on several projects there, including educating himself in the music industry. With a degree in Advertising and Graphic Design, Nipo believes he has the right tools to polish his lyrics beyond an intuitive level.
