La Opinión & Lozano Family Honored By Mexican president Vicente Fox.

The publishers of La Opinión were recognized in the weekly radio address by the President of Mexico, Vicente Fox, for their longtime commitment to the Mexican community living and working in the United States.
The Lozano Family, which founded the newspaper in 1926, was the focus of President Fox’s weekly remarks for the important linkages they provide to Mexicans living in Mexico and California. Monica Lozano, publisher and CEO of La Opinión, was singled out for her successes and achievements.
“In particular, I send my warm congratulations to Monica Lozano who, because of her professional accomplishments and her commitment to the community, was named publisher of the newspaper this year.”
“The growth of the Spanish language media in the United States is proof of the important development of our communities, the initiative of our people, and an example of the growing interest in what happens in our country. To the Lozano Family and my countrymen and women, I say: Continue to give the best of yourselves! Continue participating in the development of the communities in which you live and work!”

Monica Lozano was also recently honored by The Salvadoran Committee, El Piche, with their prestigious “Amigo Award” for her outstanding community leadership and humanitarian work. Attending the presentation of her award was the Vice President of El Salvador, Carlos Quintanilla Schmidt.
