LatCom Communications launches Latino U magazine for high schools.

LatCom Communications has added Latino U. – High School Edition to its publishing arsenal.

“As leaders in New Generation Latino media and entertainment, LatCom is proud to offer a critical segment of our audience, Latina teens, a magazine they can finally call their own. With Latinos representing 1 out of 5 teenagers in the U.S. and spending over $20 billion per year, this audience is one that advertisers need to tap,” says David Chitel, CEO of LatCom Communications, publishers of Latino U.

Like its collegiate predecessor, the new high school edition will be distributed exclusively at high-density Latino schools nationwide, and be available via branded Latino U. racks on campus. Featuring Real Women Have Curves, America Ferrera as its first aspirational cover story, Latino U. – High School Edition will also provide an interesting blend of educational columns geared towards inspiring readers to attend college. Other featured content will include fashion, music, technology, fun contests and general areas of interest for Latina teens.

“This is not just ‘another teen magazine,'” states Chitel. He adds, “There is a massive Latino void in the magazine world that is not effectively or efficiently filled by general market teen publications who severely under deliver Latina teens. One is five teens means there are literally millions of Latino teenagers living in the U.S today. Our magazine is a testament to this and the fact that the U.S. Hispanic market is no longer a one dimensional Spanish-speaking audience, but rather a diverse array of sizeable segments that merit and warrant there own media outlets.”
