Latin GRAMMY Street Parties Tour.

The Latin Recording Academy and Eventus Marketing will host the 2005 Latin GRAMMY® Street Parties, a series of grassroots events scheduled to take place in high-density Hispanic neighborhoods throughout four top US Hispanic markets. Presented by Clairol Hydrience , the “Street Parties” began in Chicago (Plaza Garibaldi) on October 2nd; New York (South Street Seaport) on October 9th; South Florida (West 16th Ave. between 37th & 41st St., Hialeah) on October 23rd; and Los Angeles (Placita Olvera) on October 30th.

For a third year in a row, the Latin GRAMMY Street Parties tour will showcase performances by established and emerging artists, as well as provide an interactive environment where attendees can enjoy music, folklore, new product demonstrations, and educational presentations.

“The Latin GRAMMY® Street parties serve different purposes” said Gabriel Abaroa, President of the Latin Recording Academy of Arts & Sciences. “Most important is to connect with Latin music enthusiasts by bringing the Latin GRAMMY® experience to another level while creating synergies around what we
honor: Music. At the same time, the event series serve as a platform for new and already established talent to promote their music within specific markets around the U.S.”

In past “Street Parties,” performances by some of Latin music’s most renowned artists included: Ivy Queen, Willie Colon, Albita, Oscar De Leon, Willy Chirino, Jennifer Peña, Shalim, and Area 305 among others. Already confirmed artists for this year’s tour include Monchy y Alexandra, Conjunto Atardecer, Los Razos, Don Dinero, and various Reggaeton artists to be announced.

“The Latin GRAMMY® Street Parties will continue to reflect the diversity of each Hispanic community by showcasing musical genres representing each market. They [“Street Parties”] capture the essence of the Latin GRAMMY® experience, bringing consumers, artists, and sponsors face to face. In doing so, sponsors enjoy the benefits of exposing their brand to consumers by taking an active role in their communities,” said Eventus Marketing President & CEO Nelson Albareda. “We are excited to continue working with the Latin Recording Academy, Univision and sponsors in achieving one goal — bringing communities together through music.”
