Latino Social Media for Social Good.

Hispanicize and Univision Communications Inc. have joined forces to provide free in-depth communications training to non-profits serving Latino communities through a program: “Latino Social Media for Social Good.” The “Latino Social Media for Social Good” initiative consists of free Hispanic social media and communications trainings for non-profits to be held at Univision offices in Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, New York and Washington D.C., starting in June 2011.

“This amazing program will empower non-profits with the communications tools they need to radically improve the way they serve Latino communities,” said Manny Ruiz, founder of Hispanicize.  “Through this program Hispanicize and Univision this year alone will help hundreds of non-profits that normally can’t afford to get this type of professional development.”

“At Univision we have seen the power of social media and how Hispanic America has embraced these platforms across Univision.com’s ‘Foros’ and ‘Mi Página’ as well as on Facebook and Twitter,” said Cesar Conde, president, Univision Networks. “Our goal is to empower the non-profit community by tapping into the tremendous opportunity of leveraging social media to achieve their goals.”
