Latino Superstar contributions to MLB Post-Season.

eBeisbol.com, the official website of ALIANZA LATINA de Béisbol and the Serie del Caribe, announced that Latin ballplayers have made a significant impact on the Major League Baseball post season. A large portion of the Latino players have participated in the Winter Leagues in Latin America, the only leagues outside of the US sanctioned by MLB for MLB player participation. It is estimated that 30% of Major League players have participated in Winter League Baseball, whose season begins in October and culminates in February with the Serie del Caribe.

The Division Series featured 22 position players hailing from Puerto Rico, Venezuela, Mexico, and Dominican Republic, the participating countries in the Winter Leagues. Winter League participants, Venezuelan Carlos Guillen and Puerto Rican Carlos Delgado had the best overall performance of their respective MLB leagues (visit eBeisbol.com for complete results).

The League Championship Series included 16 Latino position players who have significantly attributed to their teams’ success. Winter League participants, Dominican Placido Polanco and Puerto Rican Yadier Molina had the best performance of the teams that won the league championship series (visit eBeisbol.com).

So far, in the first two games of the World Series, Venezuelan Carlos Guillen is the player of the day in the American League with a .714 batting average, with 5 hits. A home run by Dominican Albert Pujols makes him the star of the National League Team (visit eBeisbol.com).

eBeisbol.com has been closely monitoring Latin MLB players. Most have participated in Winter League Baseball in Latin American. Now fans have access to official Winter League information on eBeisbol.com including video highlights/streaming, Game day statistics, official merchandise and other in-country content on the portal that is powered by MLB.com.

“Latin ballplayers have contributed greatly to Major League Baseball and their development began with their participation in Winter League teams,” said Sara Loarte of Altus/B2Z Entertainment, the producers of ALIANZA LATINA de Béisbol.
