LatinWorks wins Big at FIAP 2010.

LatinWorks announced they have won a gold and silver award for their work with Starburst and Cine Las Americas at the FIAP 2010 advertising festival in Buenos Aires, Argentina. In the TV category, LatinWorks’ Norbi Zylberberg served on the judging committee.

FIAP, the Festival Iberoamericano de la Publicidad, is an international festival dedicated to recognizing the best in advertising creative for all Latin American markets, including Spain, Portugal and the U.S.

The gold award-winning radio campaign for Wrigley’s Starburst falls under the Contradictions campaign that focuses on the facets of the brand which are contradictions; its juicy yet solid like a liquid. “Soundtrack” features a guy whose story do not match with the sound effects played on the radio, while “Cry Laughter” features an overly emotional woman who cries while telling jokes making other’s laugh.

The silver award-winning TV campaign for Cine Las Americas wanted to show how different the Latin American world is to the Austin community and festival goers. LatinWorks created the concept of “If this is our reality, imagine our films,” to pique the American audience’s curiosity about the Latin American life and its connection to film. The resulting campaign mixed real Latin American news stories with possible outcomes.

“It’s amazing to see your work on the international stage,” said Zylberberg. “Seeing our “Cine” campaign going to head-to-head with MTV International, in one of the most competitive categories of the festival, is an exhilarating feeling and one that makes us very proud of our work.”

The campaigns for both Starburst and Cine Las Americas are demonstrative of the cutting edge creative work coming from the agency. “Our focus is on consistently delivering fresh and innovative advertising that works for our clients. The Starburst and Cine las Americas campaigns helped to increase sales and attendance, respectively. We are again honored to receive recognition for our work from the industry,” said Sergio Alcocer, president and chief creative officer at LatinWorks.
