January 7, 2008
LATV announced that it had signed on San Francisco-Oakland-San Jose station KTVU as its 27th national affiliate. The Cox-owned Fox station is in the sixth largest DMA (Designated Television Market Area) in the country and the ninth largest Hispanic television market.
“With the launch of Bay Area’s KTVU, we will be in six of the top 10 U.S. Hispanic markets. Not only is it a large Hispanic market, it’s the sixth largest DMA, letting us bring our programming to bicultural viewers throughout the San Francisco-Oakland-San Jose area,” said Howard Bolter, president and COO, LATV. “With 2009 fast approaching and broadcasters meeting the FCC’s digital deadline, LATV’s distribution model is right on track. It’s a win-win for viewers, stations and the network.”
