‘LATV Live’ Expands To Two Hours.

LATV’s award winning prime-time entertainment show “LATV Live” will be expanding its program to two full hours. Beginning August 23rd, audiences can tune in to the new “LATV Live” which will offer more of the audience favorites and some new material as well. The new “LATV Live” is a fusion of the best segments from LATV’s “Instant Request” show and the best segments from the original “LATV Live” show. Going on its third year, “LATV Live” is known for its innovative use of live performances and audience interaction to attract the growing young bilingual demographic. The show has received various accolades including a 2003 Imagen Award for “Best Variety Program”. It has been nominated in the same category this year.

This fall LATV audiences can expect to see even more live performances, more in-studio celebrity guests, innovative entertainment segments, and a lot more interactivity via the web. “LATV Live” is the only television show in the country to have included live performances from such renowned and diverse acts like La Ley, Café Tacuba, Sidestepper, Akwid, The Sounds, El Gran Silencio and others. An ever-evolving show, the new “LATV Live” will also feature a newly designed set and will introduce four new VJs to its television audience. Joining the team of rotating VJs are Isabel Chavez, Elizabeth Flores, Jonathan Hernandez, and Roberto Moreno. Moreno was recently chosen as a VJ through LATV’s “Be A VJ” promotion. Moreno, who had no prior experience in television, arrived at five in the morning to an open call audition held in June. His dedication and talent landed him a spot on the team. The three other new VJs all have careers in acting and have worked in both English and Spanish language television. It is this versatility to be bilingual and bicultural that has made LATV a favorite among its audience. While recently there have been attempts by other entities to establish bicultural networks it is clearly LATV that has remained a leader in this arena.

The All-New “LATV Live” will offer:

–More Entertainment News – will keep the audience in tune with not just what’s hot in Latino entertainment and communities but Hollywood in general.

–More Celebrity Interviews & Performances- will help accommodate the growing list of celebrities who stop at the LATV studios. The diverse in-studio guest list has recently included celebrities like Paulina Rubio (singer), Lupillo Rivera (singer), Larry Joe Campbell (“According To Jim”), Benito Martinez (“The Shield”), Lauren Sanchez & Rick Garcia (UPN News 13) and many others.

–More Interactive Segments – will allow audience members to incorporate themselves into the programming through an increase of “call ins” and “shout outs”. LATV crews will also be taping at various Southland High Schools and Colleges.

“LATV Live” can be seen over the air in Southern California through KJLA and also through cable and satellite. The show runs Monday through Wednesday from 8-10p (PST).
