LBC’s ‘The Top Twenty Latin Urban Countdown’ on Westwood One.

Westwood One, in partnership with Latino Broadcasting Company (LBC), announced the debut of The Top Twenty Latin Urban Countdown, hosted by one of Latin music’s hottest personalities, Frankie Needles. The weekly, two-hour music countdown show will feature a mix of the hottest music from the Reggaeton, Hip-hop, R&B and Reggae formats. The Top Twenty Latin Urban Countdown will be produced by Miami based LBC and affiliated by Westwood One. Stations airing The Top Twenty Latin Urban Countdown upon its debut include: WSKQ-FM New York, KXOL-FM Los Angeles, WXDJ-FM Miami and WYUU-FM Tampa.

“Frankie Needles is a major force in the Latin music scene and we are truly thrilled to add such a talent to the Westwood One roster,” said Max Krasny, SVP Programming Westwood One. “With Latin programming in increasingly high demand, The Top Twenty Latin Urban Countdown will no doubt be a huge hit with listeners, stations and advertisers across the country.”

“I am delighted to join forces with Westwood One on The Top Twenty Latin-Urban Countdown”, said Tony Hernandez, President and CEO of Latino Broadcasting Company (LBC). “Frankie Needles is a world class artist with unique cross-over appeal and I am confident that together, Westwood and LBC will take this amazing talent to the next level.”

“I’m very excited and thankful for the opportunity to collaborate on this project with Westwood One and LBC,” said Frankie Needles. “This is so much more than just another countdown show. This is an opportunity to reach out to the millions of young Latinos out there who, like me, grew up without a reflection of themselves or their lifestyle anywhere on national radio or TV. My show is an honest reflection of this young Latin-Urban movement and I want to set a positive example by encouraging my fans to follow their dreams as I have, despite the many obstacles we all face. When you love what you do and do what you love success and happiness follow. On “The Roof,” I promised to take it to the next level and I’m keeping good on my promise. This is for my fans. Latinos Stand Up!”

Celebrity Television and Radio host Frankie Needles is at the very forefront of today’s Latin-urban movement.
