Telemundo Communications Group, Inc. announced the appointment of Leo Ramos as Vice President and General Manager of WSNS-TV (Channel 44, Chicago). The announcement, made by Telemundo Station Group President Rick Blangiardi, marks Telemundo’s continued commitment to strengthening the Station’s franchise in the Chicago market.
“Leo is a seasoned broadcast professional who brings an extraordinary level of depth and experience to this job. We fully expect him to achieve greatness at WSNS,” said Blangiardi.
As Vice President and General Manager, Ramos will oversee WSNS-TV’s day-to-day operations, including local news and programming, advertising sales, on-air promotions, community relations and marketing. His appointment, which became effective July 1, 2001, follows a positive audience response in Chicago to the Telemundo Network’s programming line-up launched in Fall 2000.

Born in El Paso, Texas and raised in Los Angeles, Ramos has over 17 years of experience in radio and television, both as an owner and operator. Most recently he was General Manager at KPXG-TV in Portland, Oregon and has served in senior management positions at Caballero Spanish Media, Univision, and S.I.N. Ramos is a graduate of UCLA and the Harvard Law School.
