Liceaga named VP of Marketing & Promotions at Univision Deportes.

Univision Communications Inc. announced the appointment of Marco A. Liceaga as the new vice president of Marketing and Promotions for Univision Deportes. Based in Miami, Mr. Liceaga will oversee all strategic marketing and brand building endeavors for Univision’s sports properties across all media platforms. He will report to Juan Carlos Rodriguez, president of Univision Deportes.

Liceaga joins Univision Deportes from Soccer United Marketing, the marketing arm of Major League Soccer, where he served as senior director of SUM International. In this role, he managed SUM’s foreign properties business, including the Federacion Mexicana de Futbol, Liga MX, Chivas de Guadalajara, FC Barcelona and CONCACAF; as well as the MLS International Media business. Before that, he served as Marketing director for Major League Soccer and Soccer United Marketing. Prior to SUM, Liceaga was a Broadcast and New Media manager at NFL International, overseeing the league’s media business out of NFL office in Mexico. While there, he managed NFL media rights in Mexico, including television and radio, while also managing relationships with key media partners such as Televisa, TV Azteca and Sky.
