Lopez Negrete Communications ‘Best of Show Print’ in the Houston ADDY Awards.

Lopez Negrete Communications received the Best of Show Print, for their 2006 Microsoft campaign at this year’s Houston Advertising Federation’s (HAF) 44th Annual ADDYs Awards. In addition, the agency picked up 19 Gold ADDYs, 16 Silver ADDYs and 36 Citations of Excellence. Overall, Lopez Negrete received 72 awards, making it a record-breaking night for the agency.

The Best of Show Print Award is the third for Lopez Negrete. This year, Microsoft’s “Realizing Potential Campaign” brought home the top honor. In 2005, the agency initiated several campaigns on empowering the Hispanic small business owners and helping the community members realize their potential through the power of technology. Lopez Negrete’s work has always maintained a high level of creative ingenuity, as seen most prominently with this Best of Show win. “All campaigns are judged on overall character and quality. This year’s Best of Show winners exemplify these traits both in style and creativity,” said Gary Gilmore, ADDY judge.

“The ADDYs are an annual opportunity for Houston-based agencies to demonstrate their ability to provide top-rate advertising that is competitive on both the national and local level. Industry professionals show through their tireless work that advertising and marketing is a thriving field and that the creative spirit is alive and well in Houston,” said John C. Beddow, 2006 ADDY co-chair and publisher of the Houston Business Journal.

“This year has been phenomenal for our agency. I am proud of my entire team and recognize that these awards represent our belonging to the top tier of our industry. These wins are a clear indication that we are well representing the creative needs of our clients. We know the time and energy that our creative teams invest into each of these accounts. These awards are so important to us because it shows that our work does not go unnoticed,” said Alex Lopez Negrete, CEO and president.

Alex Lopez Negrete was last year’s Silver Medal winner and this year had the honor of presenting the 2006 award to advertising legend Cliff Gillock.
