Lopez Negrete Communications honored by PRSA.

The public relations department at Lopez Negrete Communications garnered two Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) awards at the annual PRSA ceremony in Houston.

A Gold Excalibur Award was given under the “Special Events” category for Tyson Foods, and its participation at the LULAC Annual convention. Another gold win came under the “Multicultural Campaign” category for the work done for Shell Oil Company.

“These awards point to the dedication and talent that the Lopez Negrete public relations bring to their work on behalf of our clients,” said Alex López Negrete, President of Lopez Negrete Communications. “Public relations is a valuable part of our agency’s integrated approach to marketing on behalf of our clients.”

To distinguish Tyson Foods and their commitment to the Hispanic community, the Lopez Negrete public relations team executed a series of special events and activities around the convention. With Shell Oil, the team developed several media stories and activities to generate coverage in key Hispanic newspapers and magazines.

The awards come on the heels of a restructuring of the department in order to be more competitive. The agency refocused on its core strengths of Media Relations, Community Relations, Public Affairs and Corporate Communications, thus enabling the agency to mirror corporate public relations departments.
