Lopez Negrete Communications Wins Big @ Houston ADDY 2004.

Lopez Negrete Communications received two of the three Houston ADDY 2004 Special Awards, including the most sought-after award of the evening, Best of Show, for Visa’s television commercial, “Flechazo,” and the Special Judges’ Award for print on behalf of Goya Foods at the Houston Advertising Federation’s (HAF) 42nd Annual ADDY Awards on Saturday, Feb. 21. Additionally, the Agency picked up 12 Gold ADDYs, 8 Silver ADDYs and 21 Citations of Excellence. Overall, the Agency received 43 awards, making Lopez Negrete the most-winning agency of the evening.
The Best of Show Award is the first for Lopez Negrete and the first Spanish-language spot to ever receive the honor at the Houston ADDYs. Goya Foods’ “Celia Cruz” was recognized with the Special Judges’ Award for print, presenting the Agency with two-thirds of the Special Judges’ Awards of the year. The Agency won Gold ADDY awards for Visa (4), Tyson Foods, Bank of America, Goya Foods, Fiesta Mart, Lopez Negrete Communications (3) and Devanand Yoga Center. Silver ADDYs were won for work done on behalf of Bank of
America (3), Tyson Foods (3), Devanand Yoga Center and HAF. Finally, the Citations of Excellence went to Tyson Foods (7), Bank of America (4), Wal-Mart (3), Devanand Yoga Center (2), Child Advocates (2), Visa, Doneraki Restaurants and HAF. “We saw some excellent examples of marketing to the ever-expanding Hispanic market. There were some smart ideas that would translate well into any language,” said 2004 ADDY Award Judge Ron Boucher.
