Lucero to host Telemundo’s “Yo Soy El Artista”

Telemundo announced that actress and singer Lucero will host its upcoming mega-reality musical competition, “Yo Soy El Artista” (I Am the Artist), slated to premiere in September. Given her extensive artistic career, the Mexican-born actress, television host and multi-platinum singer joins Telemundo’s new Sunday prime-time reality competition as a master of ceremonies, where she will not only host the competition, but also have a say in the future of the contestants. With castings completed across major cities in the U.S. and Puerto Rico, “Yo Soy el Artista” will feature talented contestants who will have to sing, dance and demonstrate star quality and showmanship, in an intense 13-week competition where the winner will be named the ultimate true “Artist.”
