Luis Miguel, Alejandro Sanz & Thalia @ Latin GRAMMY Awards.

Luis Miguel, Alejandro Sanz and Thalia will perform on the 2nd Annual Latin GRAMMY Awards telecast set for September 11, it was announced today by Michael Greene, President/CEO of the Recording Academy and Latin Recording Academy. Nelly Furtado and Jon Secada will be among the presenters. The show will originate from Miami and be broadcast on the CBS Television Network from 9-11 p.m. (EDT/PDT). The announcement marks the first official naming of performers and presenters for the Latin music industry’s preeminent awards show. Additional performers and presenters will be announced shortly.

Four-time GRAMMY and three-time Latin GRAMMY winner Luis Miguel has been nominated for Best Male Pop Vocal Album for “Vivo.” Pop superstar Thalia’s album “Arrasando” earned her a nomination this year for Best Female Pop Vocal Album.

Alejandro Sanz earned five nominations this year, including Record Of The Year and Song Of The Year for the title song from the album “El Alma Al Aire.” The album itself was nominated for Best Pop Male Vocal Album and Album Of The Year. Sanz also was nominated for Best Music Video for the video “Cuando Nadie Me Ve.”

Two-time GRAMMY winner Jon Secada will be on hand to present along with singer/songwriter Nelly Furtado, who received critical acclaim for her debut album “Whoa, Nelly!,” released in the fall of 2000.

The 2nd Annual Latin GRAMMY Awards will be telecast by CBS domestically, and on radio via Westwood One/the Hispanic Broadcasting Corporation worldwide. The ceremony will boast awards in 38 key categories covering many genres and sub-genres of Latin music and will feature performances from some of the genre’s biggest artists.
