Major League Baseball All-Star Game @ Fox Sports en Español.

For the first time in Major League Baseball All-Star Game history, the U.S. Spanish-speaking television audience will get its own Spanish-language telecast of the Midsummer Classic through Fox Sports en Español. The announcement was made today by Fox Sports en Español General Manager David Sternberg.

Fox Sports en Español will televise the MLB All-Star Games from 2004-2006 under a three-year sublicense from Fox Broadcasting Company, similar to the arrangement under which the channel has televised the MLB postseason since 2001. The live Spanish telecasts will reach more than three million Latino households – and nearly 6.6 million households overall – in the top 25 U.S. Hispanic markets. This year’s game will be played on Tuesday, July 13, 2004 at Minute Maid Park in Houston, Texas, home of the Houston Astros.

“We’re very pleased to make these highly anticipated events available to our Spanish-speaking audience, and to our many distribution and marketing partners,” said Sternberg. “This year’s broadcast will bring a new perspective to the Major League Baseball All-Star Game, in which numerous Latin American and U.S. Hispanic players will be taking part, and will serve as a perfect lead-in to our exclusive Spanish-language coverage of the MLB postseason and World Series in October.”
