Marketing y Medios Named Finalist For Best Start-Up.

Marketing y Medios has been selected as a finalist in the 51st annual Jesse H. Neal National Business Journalism Awards Competition in the category of best start-up publication.

The other start-up finalists include BusinessWeek Small Biz, published by The McGraw-Hill Cos., and PMT, published by the Packaging Machinery Manufacturers Institute. The winner will be announced during the Neal Awards luncheon on March 16 at the Waldorf=Astoria in New York.

Adweek’s Marketing y Medios, published by VNU Business Media, launched in September 2004 to help marketers and advertisers understand the complex U.S. Hispanic market and tap into its explosive growth by covering advertising agencies, marketing initiatives and Hispanic media throughout the country.

“We already knew that Marketing y Medios had found its audience — that readers and marketers loved the magazine — but we are of course delighted that our business-magazine colleagues have recognized the editorial quality of the magazine with this nomination,” says Sid Holt, editorial director of VNU Business Media.

The Neal Awards, which, according to American Business Media received 1,186 entries this year, “recognize editorial excellence and exemplify the high standards of achievement championed by Jesse H. Neal, the first managing director of what is now American Business Media.”
