Maximum TV launches online.
January 9, 2009
Maximum TV is a new online video venture targeting US Hispanic consumers with broadband delivery of relevant television content from around the Spanish speaking world and has retained Miami based Rumbaut & Company to lead exploration of alternatives with strategic partners, funding sources and content partners.
US Hispanics will now be able to view current and library television programming which they miss, covet and which might not be available to them in the United States, as well as have access to other relevant television content, all in one internet destination.
While US Hispanics over index in technology adoption, including broadband and while internet usage among US Hispanics is rapidly growing, the US Hispanic market lags behind the US general market in the area of television content delivery via the internet.
Currently all major US television networks are making most of their programming also available online. Industry experience so far suggests that having content available on regular broadcast and online, increases overall time that TV content is being viewed.
Maximum TV delivers a TV like experience on the PC screen, using Microsoft’s Silverlight technology and over time will deliver content to mobile devices, X-Box 360 and other new media distribution vehicles.
Maximum TV allows for personalization as to which content users want to enjoy while advertisers can target to specific demographics and sub segments of the Maximum TV user base.
US Hispanics will be able to access the entire gamut of television content genres including; news, sports, telenovelas (soap operas), reality shows, game shows, talk shows, documentaries, movies, educational and many more from Latin America, Spain and the US itself.
