WWME, Me-TV, Channel 23 in Chicago, will now expand its classic television brand to engage a whole new audience. Beginning August 4th, Me-TV launches a groundbreaking program strategy: Si!Me-TV, classic television in Spanish! Every Saturday and Sunday morning from 6AM -11AM, Si!Me-TV will include a line up of action/adventure programs broadcast in Spanish on Me-TV, Channel 23.
“Si!Me-TV is Me-TV‚s unique way to serve the ever growing Spanish speaking audience with programming compatible with Me-TV’s overall classic TV format. This is an opportunity for our company to once again provide programming to an audience that Me-TV’s sister station, WCIU-TV, served for many years as an affiliate of various Hispanic television networks,” said Neal Sabin, Executive Vice President, Weigel Broadcasting.
The Si!Me-TV line up will include Hercules, Xena, Miami Vice, Quantum Leap and The Incredible Hulk. Some of these programs are only available for telecast in Spanish because of guild or residual restrictions and will not be telecast in English on the Me-TV schedule. A locally produced Spanish language public affairs program will also join Si!Me-TV’s schedule.
