Telemundo launches ¡Hazte Contar! 2010 Census campaign.

Telemundo announced the launch of ”Hazte Contar!” (Be Counted!), a national initiative designed to increase awareness of the 2010 Census among U.S. Hispanics and increase their participation in this significant national process. The company-wide, year-long campaign will kick off on-air on April 1, 2009, and encompass all of Telemundo’s properties across its broadcast (network and stations), cable and digital platforms.

Nearly 2/3 of U.S. Hispanics access the Internet monthly.

United States Hispanics are not only online in overwhelming numbers, but they are taking advantage of the internet’s position as a primary tool for information. Previous notions of Hispanics not having access to the internet, or being unaware of its possibilities, have been smashed. Not only are U.S. Hispanics online, but they turn to the internet for a variety of reasons.

Mega TV signs with Spanish Television Sales.

Spanish Broadcasting System, Inc. (SBS)announced that it has entered into a sales representation agreement with Spanish Television Sales (STS) to have the Company represent SBS’ leading Mega TV properties. STS will be responsible for advertising sales in all Mega TV markets across the country, including Puerto Rico, West Palm Beach and their newest affiliate in Las Vegas.

2008 Digital Year in Review.

comScore, Inc. released a new report, The comScore 2008 Digital Year in Review, which recaps key trends in U.S. digital marketing for the year. The comprehensive report highlights the key trends in several areas of digital marketing, including e-commerce, top-growing sites and site categories, search, online video, online advertising and mobile, and how digital marketers can capitalize on these trends in 2009.

Generations Online in 2009.

Over half of the adult internet population is between 18 and 44 years old. But larger percentages of older generations are online now than in the past, and they are doing more activities online, according to surveys taken from 2006-2008.

Terra & Telemundo partner to launch Chivas & El Tri site.

Terra announced a partnership with Telemundo to offer marketers an opportunity to sponsor soccer games across multiple screens and own specific custom content areas.

Mobile Banking.

The Mobile Marketing Association (MMA) announced the publication of its Mobile Banking Overview; an educational resource designed to provide analysis of the unique marketing opportunities and attributes that the mobile channel represents for the financial sector. Key subjects include market size, consumer-focused mobile banking products and services, and the mobile media channels available to banks and other financial institutions. It also provides considerations for optimizing mobile banking communications and campaign effectiveness within each channel.
