CaribeVision Television Group, a new television network led by media executive Carlos Barba, is set to launch in three of the top Hispanic markets next September 11th , in Miami and New York, and on the 20th in Puerto Rico. Following the purchase of local television stations in Puerto Rico, Miami, and New York, CaribeVision will be available to viewers in the Miami and New York DMA’s, as well as throughout the island of Puerto Rico, offering a localized network option for Spanish-language television viewers.

I don’t know, maybe it’s the time of year. Or perhaps it’s all the back-to-school ads. It could be because I am a new mom. Whatever the case may be, I have kids on my mind. If you’ve followed my writings you know I have a strong affinity to the tween (8 – 12 years old) and teen market on many levels: safety, privacy, ethnography, etc.
This digital generation fascinates me. Want to know where to download music, find cool apparel, watch movies and clips, change expressions, personalize your IMs, emails, blogs, anything… just ask a tween or teen. Sure they may give you the eyes-rolling-in-the-back-of the-head look, but, hey, go directly to the source.

According to a recent Synovate/Marketing Daily survey, 8 out of 10 Americans know what a blog is and almost half have visited blogs.
SBS’s ‘El Papichulo’ swims across Hudson River.
Spanish Broadcasting System and WSKQ La MEGA 97.9 FM announced the hit morning show, “El Vacilón de la Mañana,” was transmitting live on Thursday August 30 from the banks of the Hudson River. During the broadcast, DJ Leo Miches Amador, also known as “El Papichulo,” bravely swam across the river.
