ImpreMedia launches ImpreMedia Digital.

ImpreMedia Chairman and CEO John Paton announced the creation of ImpreMedia Digital, LLC. ImpreMedia will pursue all of its online efforts through the new company, including acquisitions.

Mr. Paton also announced the appointment of Arturo Duran as the Chief Executive Officer of ImpreMedia Digital, LLC. Mary Zerafa, who had been appointed General Manager of ImpreMedia’s digital efforts in March of 2006, will become Vice-President, Strategy of ImpreMedia Digital, LLC.

Latin Television throws in towel.

According to Television Business Report, Latin Television Inc., a penny stock company based in Coral Springs, FL, is throwing in the towel.

JupiterResearch has found the worldwide online population will increase from 1.1 billion users in 2006 to 1.5 billion in 2011, representing 22 percent of the overall worldwide population in that year. Outlined in a new report “Worldwide Online Population Forecast, 2006 to 2011: Emerging Economies Catalyze Future Growth,” Brazil, Russia, India, and China will provide impetus for future growth of the online population.

Wortsman joins Board of Directors of Fisher Communications.

Fisher Communications, Inc. announced the appointment of Michael D. Wortsman to the company’s Board of Directors. Wortsman is the recently retired president of Univision Television Group.

Gaspin named President & COO of Universal Television Group.

Jeff Gaspin has been named President and Chief Operating Officer, Universal Television Group. The announcement was made by Jeff Zucker, President and CEO, NBC Universal, to whom he will continue to report.
