Interep announced that its Hispanic television rep firm – Azteca America Spot Television Sales – has added all five Azteca America affiliate television stations owned by Pappas Telecasting Companies to its client roster. The stations include: Houston/ KAZH-TV, San Francisco/ KTNC-TV, Omaha/ KAZO-TV, Reno/ KAZR-TV and Yakima/ KAZW-TV.

Telemundo announces key promotions.
Telemundo Network announced several key promotions within its Network Sales Team. The appointments come about the highly valued performance of some of the network’s top sales managers. The announcement was made by Keith Turner, President of Sales & Marketing, NBC Universal, and Steve Mandala, Senior Vice President, Sales & Marketing, Telemundo and NBC Universal Networks.
Puerto Rico has made sports history on ice.
On March 12th, 2005, only five months after becoming an International Skating Union (ISU) member a Puerto Rican figure skater representing the Puerto Rican Figure Skating Federation competed in an international competition. Seven months later, the same skater, Victoria Muniz, made sports history for a second time in Sofia, Bulgaria.

Television did not kill radio, neither did the Walkman, nor will the Internet.
During the past 10 years technology has dramatically broadened radio (and other audio) programming. It began in the mid-1990s with “streaming” audio over the Internet. By the end of the decade XM Satellite Radio and Sirius Satellite Radio were launched. Since then, digital radio has continued to expand with the addition of podcasting, offering time-shifted radio programming, and HD Digital Radio, offering superior sound quality and additional AM and FM frequencies.

The next 10 years: Radio’s biggest challenge.
Radio continues to take it on the chin with advertisers and Wall Street, but finding the root cause of Radio’s doldrums is like peeling an onion. Some point to Radio’s tremendous installed user base and reach and contend that the problem is simply a PR issue. Others observe that Radio is losing the technology battle, and is being eclipsed by new media platforms such as satellite and Internet radio. Or is it consolidation? Content? Global Warming?
