Mobile Phones could rival the PC as dominant Internet platform.

Today, the personal computer remains the dominant platform to access the Internet globally. However, Internet access via the mobile phone actually outpaces wireless access from a notebook PC in many of areas of the world – a statistic driven largely by the massive install base of mobile phones throughout the world as well as more developed wireless networks, according to The Face of the Web, the annual study of Internet trends by global market research firm Ipsos Insight.

As the United States Congress is set to resume debate this week on controversial immigration reform measures, Latin/Urban entertainment company UBO (Urban Box Office) has already begun bringing an all-star lineup of Latin music artists together to record “Nuestro Himno” (Our Hymn) – the first-ever Spanish-language recording of The Star Spangled Banner.

According to Radio & Records magazine, as a sign of support for what is being labeled by protest organizers as “A Day Without Latinos” and by others as “A Day Without A Mexican,” La Preciosa Network’s on-air staff will not speak on the air on May 1.

Telemundo viewers will enjoy a week-long celebration of the 2006 Billboard Latin Music Awards, driven by a one-hour special titled “Conteo al Billboard,” and followed by on the scene coverage of the much anticipated awards show from several of the network’s programs. The 2006 Billboard Latin Music Awards will be broadcast live by Telemundo from Hard Rock Live at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida, on Thursday, April 27 at 7PM (6 PM/c).
