According to RBR, an LA Superior Court awarded more than $100K in attorneys’ fees to six former Univision Radio employees against Spanish-language radio personality Eduardo “Piolín” Sotelo for defending an extortion claim against the defendants and their attorneys at Taylor & Ring, an LA-based trial law firm. The award will be paid by Sotelo himself, rather than his attorneys.

Judge dismisses Piolin extortion suit
According to Radio Business Report, Los Angeles County Superior Court judge Richard A. Stone has dismissed an extortion lawsuit brought by popular Spanish-language radio personality Eddie “Piolin” Sotelo against six former staff members of his canceled Univision Radio show — and ruled that Sotelo may be liable for his adversaries’ legal fees. Sotelo now has a morning show on SiriusXM satellite radio.
