ESPNdeportes.com presents ‘The Rise of the Latinos’.

As a prelude to its coverage of the inaugural World Baseball Classic and the 2006 Major League Baseball regular season, ESPN.com and ESPNdeportes.com will present “The Rise of the Latinos,” a four-part, multimedia-laden series chronicling the history of Latinos in Major League Baseball. The series will be featured in special sections on both sites, Tuesday, Feb. 28 – Fri., March 3.

Telemundo @ Torino.

On February 10th Telemundo began their special coverage of the 2006 Winter Olympics from Torino, Italy. Starting very early in the morning until late at night, US Hispanic viewers throughout the nation can get the Olympic scoop through several of the network’s sports and entertainment programs. Jessi Losada and Edgar Lopez will host of the special coverage with the support of Leti Coo and Mara Montero, bringing exclusive stories live from the Winter Olympic headquarters.

57th Caribbean World Series @ Fox Sports en Español.

Fox Sports en Español has acquired the exclusive U.S. Spanish-language television rights to the 57th Caribbean World Series of baseball, to be held next month in Venezuela. The four-team, six-day tournament, to be televised for the eighth consecutive year on Fox Sports en Español, will kick off Thursday, February 2 at 4:30 p.m. ET/1:30 p.m. PT with a match-up between the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico.

ESPN Deportes To Televise World Baseball Classic.

ESPN, Major League Baseball and the MLB Players Association have reached an agreement that makes ESPN, ESPN2 and ESPN Syndication the exclusive domestic English-language providers of the inaugural World Baseball Classic when it is held in March. ESPN Deportes, ESPN’s Spanish-language network in the U.S., will be the only network to televise all 39 games of the inaugural Classic.

Univision To Broadcast FIFA World Cup Final Draw From Germany.

The World Cup “Sorteo” (Final Draw), the most eagerly awaited event prior to next summer’s soccer mega-event, will be broadcast live from Leipzig, Germany on the Univision Television Network on Friday, December 9, 2005 from 2:30pm – 4:00pm ET (1:30pm – 3:00pm CT/11:30am – 1:00pm PT).
