The Meruelo Group has reached an agreement to acquire KWHY-TV, an NBCU-owned television station in Los Angeles, California, it was announced by Meruelo, NBCU and Bahia Honda LLC. The acquisition is subject to approval by the Federal Communications Commission.

Vme will host its 2011 upfront on May 19th from 10:30am – 1:00pm at the Samsung Experience in New York. FCC grants approval of Comcast – NBC transaction
The Federal Communications Commission grants-with conditions and enforceable commitments-approval of the assignment and transfer of control of broadcast, satellite, and other radio licenses from General Electric Company (GE) to Comcast Corporation. The approval will allow GE and Comcast to create a joint venture involving NBC Universal, Inc. (NBCU) and Comcast. An Order further explaining the Commission’s reasoning and the conditions and commitments will be issued shortly.

Host of Vme Cocina, Cipriano García “Chef Ciprigar” died yesterday morning in Miami at the age of 33.
