Stephen Friedman, General Manager of MTV, announced that Jose Tillan has been appointed to the position of General Manager/ Executive Vice President of MTV Tr3s. Tillan will be based in New York City and Miami, reporting to Mr. Friedman.

Tillan, who was Senior Vice President of Content and Creative for MTV/VH1 Latin America, will remain involved with the Networks and will serve as Executive Producer of Los Premios MTV 2009 reporting to Sofia Ioannou, Managing Director of MTV Networks Latin America.

Carlos Mencia and a host of English and Spanish language television stars will join DIRECTV Más as it sponsors a star-studded benefit for East L.A. Classic Theatre (ECT), and launches Óptimo Más, a bilingual Latino-focused programming package.

Terra relaunched Terra TV in the United States and Latin America. Terra TV offers users an unprecedented, multidimensional viewing platform that includes interactive features, innovative tools and third-generation Web video technology. The programming is categorized in three channels: Entertainment, News and Sports.

On June 12, all full-power television stations in the United States will cease analog transmission and broadcast only in digital.
