Telenovelas score higher in English and Spanish.

Prime-time telenovelas, whether in English or in Spanish attract higher than average out-of home audiences according to a study of Arbitron Portable People Meter (PPMsm) data for the last two weeks of September. In fact, the out-of-home audience percentages that Arbitron has recorded for telenovelas approach the percentages recorded for NFL Football.

InterMedia Partners to purchase WAPA-TV in Puerto Rico.

InterMedia Partners will be purchasing WAPA-TV in Puerto Rico along with WJPX-TV (currently airs MTV Puerto Rico) and WAPA América for $130 Million from a LIN TV Corp.

Alan Sokol who previously was Operations Director at Telemundo is part of the InterMedia Partners team and bring experience and strategic know-how to the operation.

RTNDF Study: Local Television remains the dominant source of News.

More Americans choose local television news as one of their top three sources for news than any other form of traditional or new media, according to The Future of News Survey conducted for the Radio and Television News Directors Foundation. A total of 65.5 percent named local television news, compared with 28.4 percent who named local newspapers and 28.3 percent who named national network television news. The Internet was one of the top three choices for 11.2 percent of those surveyed.

TV Azteca stands behind right to demand contract fulfillment from Tacher & Nostromo.

Mexican broadcaster TV Azteca has ongoing legal proceedings against former show host Alan Tacher and producer Nostromo for breach of contract. The company reiterates that its decision to demand contract fulfillment from Mr. Tacher and Nostromo is well within its legal rights and includes an obligation to protect its intellectual property and other rights.
