Underscoring the immense popularity of soccer among U.S. Hispanics, the Copa Libertadores continues to deliver big ratings for Fox Sports en Espanol. With an average household coverage area rating of 6.0, three of the network’s exclusive telecasts of the Copa Libertadores in first quarter 2005, not only ranked among the top-ten Spanish-language cable programs overall, but also reigned supreme among all Spanish-language sports network programming, according to Nielsen Media Research.

New Nielsen Study Reveals MásMúsica TeVe Network Connects With 18-34 Hispanic Viewers.
A new study conducted among 18 – 49 year olds by Nielsen Media Research reveals high viewership rates for MásMúsica TeVe Network. Over half (54%) of all respondents said they viewed MásMúsica® TeVe Network during the past week. Among 18 – 34 year olds, almost six in ten (59%) said they watched MásMúsica TeVe during the past week.
Sí TV Announces New Original Shows For 2005/2006 Upfront.
Sí TV has announced the addition of nine new original shows to its programming lineup ranging from “reali-mentaries” to sketch comedy. The addition of these new shows raises the total amount of original programs offered by the year-old network from ten to nineteen.
For Better TV Data, Add to Nielsen … Don’t Try to Replace Them.
Our industry-wide discomfort with the short-comings of the Nielsen ratings has made us angry, but attempting to replace Nielsen won’t solve the TV measurement problem.

On Tuesday, April 5 at 7PM (ET\PT) Telemundo will premiere “Amarte Asi,” a family-friendly story centered on a boy’s search for a father, and the impossible love between his parents. This new Telemundo original production starring Litzy, Mauricio Ochmann and introducing Alejandro Felipe Flores as the charming Frijolito, is a love story seen through the eyes of a small boy.
Univision Stations Win Ed Murrow Award.
Univision Communications Inc. announced that three of its owned-and-operated stations – KMEX-TV, Los Angeles, WXTV-TV, New York and KTVW-TV, Phoenix – were each recognized for excellence in journalism, receiving the prestigious Radio-Television News Directors Association’s (RTNDA) Edward R. Murrow Award for Outstanding News Series.
