Jose Flores from Telemundo 39 / KXTX in Dallas-Fort Worth has been named General Manager, and Willie Rosales has been named Vice President of Sales.

The NBCUniversal Owned Television Stations announced it has completed the acquisition of KTLM-TV, the Telemundo affiliate licensed to Rio Grande City, Texas, serving the Harlingen-Weslaco-Brownsville area.

Telemundo announced the filming of the original series “Camelia La Tejana,” a story inspired by the legendary norteño band Los Tigres del Norte’s popular corrido “Contrabando y Traición.”  

This epic story of love, intrigue, thrills and all-too-real situations is Sebastián Zurita’s first production for Telemundo as well as his first appearance in a telenovela alongside his famous mother, acclaimed actress Christian Bach.

América CV Network announced that Victor Olaniel has been hired as General Sales Manager for its stations WFUN and WJAN South Florida, WJPX and WIRS (Puerto Rico), and WPXO New York. Additionally, Estrella Zayas-Bazán has been named Local Sales Manager for WJAN South Florid

Telemundo kicks off 2014 with the premiere of “Avenida Brasil,” a worldwide hit coming to U.S. screens for the first time on Monday, January 6 at 12pm/11am Central.

The Univision Network announced it will air its 2nd Annual “TeletónUSA,” a 28-hour telethon featuring more than 100 Hispanic superstars and television personalities uniting the community in support of children with disabilities, cancer and autism in the United States. Under the slogan “Héroes con Corazón” (Heroes with a Heart), this year’s event follows the spectacularly successful initial effort that reached nearly 14 million viewers and raised nearly double the first telethon’s goal for a total of $ 15,215,028 million dollars.  Through inspiring stories, personal testimonies, and memorable performances from top Latino talent, “TeletónUSA” will work to surpass last year’s total, if by only a dollar, and change lives.
