Mega Communications sells WMGG/Tampa.

Mega Communications has sold WMGG/820AM to Genesis Communications. Genesis confirms that they will be taking WMGG’s current Mexican Adults Hits format off the air in favor of a non-ethnic format in the next few days.

Mega Communications will continue to own and operate WLCC/La Ley 760. WLCC has been Tampa’s leading Hispanic station for ten years serving the growing Mexican and Central American community which currently represents approximately half of Tampa’s Hispanic population.

“WLCC will continue to serve Tampa’s Mexican and Central American community as it has for ten years” says Rafael Grullon, Mega’s VP of Operations. “With the sale of WMGG to Genesis, we expect that much of WMGG’s former audience will find their home at WLCC”.
