Mexicanal adds to sales team.

The Mexicanal Network has expanded its executive team and has opened a new West Coast sales office. Betti Ortega has joined as Vice President of Affiliate Relations, and Bill Jenkins was tapped as Director of Advertising Sales, presiding over Mexicanal ’s new Los Angeles office. The network also has offices in San Luis Potosi, Atlanta and New York.
“We are very pleased at the opportunity to strengthen the network with Ms. Ortega and Mr. Jenkins, two executives with distinct and powerful skill sets that will contribute to our continued growth,” said Luis Torres-Bohl, Mexicanal ’s President. “Betti’s marketing and public relations background will go a long way to reinforcing our business relationships with satellite, cable and broadcast affiliates, and Bill is an accomplished and well connected sales executive who knows the West Coast inside and out.”
As Vice President of Affiliate Relations at Mexicanal , Ms. Ortega is charged with all facets of affiliate development, including marketing and consumer relations. She will also contribute to the network’s marketing, PR and new business efforts. Ortega brings over 15 years of experience in marketing, public relations, promotions and new business development. Most recently, she was Senior Account Executive at Taylor Communications, working in the agency’s multicultural practice. Prior to Taylor, Ms. Ortega was Director of PR at Latinvox (now The Vox Collective), where she led the agency’s public relations and promotional efforts. Her experience also includes working with other agencies and CPG companies in their marketing and promotional areas, both in the US and Latin America.
Mr. Jenkins—as Director of Advertising Sales to Mexicanal will lead the network’s West Coast sales office, as well as all local ad sales for its LA station, KBEH, channel 63.3. Jenkins brings an extensive background in advertising sales and station management for the Hispanic community. In his most recent position as Vice President of Ad Sales for LATV Networks, he incorporated creative product integration and branded entertainment into the successful sales of numerous nationally branded advertisers on the emerging bicultural Hispanic network. Mr. Jenkins’ previous ad sales and executive management posts include such organizations as KFTR Telefutura (Univision), KBLA (Radio Unica), MTV Networks Latin America and KVEA (Telemundo), among others.
