“Mi Marido Tiene Familia” premieres on Univision

The Univision Network announced the premiere of “Mi Marido Tiene Familia” (My Husband Has a Family), starring Daniel Arenas and Zuria Vega. The primetime comedy premieres on Monday, August 21, at 9 p.m. ET/PT (8 p.m. CT).

A romantic contemporary story created by renowned Televisa producer Juan Osorio, known for making TV hits such as “Porque El Amor Manda” (2012), “Mi Corazón Es Tuyo” (2014) and more recently, “Sueño de Amor” (2016). His new dramedy pokes fun at traditional attitudes toward the extended family in a modern marriage.

“Mi Marido Tiene Familia” tells the story of Julieta Aguilar (Zuria Vega) and Robert Cooper (Daniel Arenas), a modern and successful couple who appear to have the perfect marriage. They are all each other has as Robert was adopted and never had a real family, and Julieta’s family lives far away. Life takes an unexpected turn when Robert and Julieta discover that their neighbors, who are artisanal bakers, are actually Robert’s biological family. Their relationship quickly goes from “just me and you” to “me, you and your mom, dad, aunts, uncles, cousins and abuelitos.”

“Mi Marido Tiene Familia” also marks the return of beloved actress, Silvia Pinal, to Univision primetime as Juan Pablo’s grandmother, Imelda Sierra de Córcega.
