Turbulence has been tapped by Miami Art Museum (MAM) to handle branding and advertising, including interactive and digital assignments. The agency will provide brand strategy for MAM as it prepares to move to Museum Park in 2011.
“Turbulence is a respected firm that understands the importance of the arts and culture in a community,” said Michael McLane, Miami Art Museum assistant director for communications. “Miami is an international destination with a growing emphasis on the arts and MAM is an important part of Miami’s arts community. As we work towards moving to a new, world-class building in Museum Park, we are working to create a brand that even more reflects the community and engages the public.”
This move comes on the heels of announcing the selection of Pritzker Prize and Royal Gold Medal-winning architects Herzog & de Meuron to design the museum’s new home. Architectural plans for the new museum are set to be unveiled at a dedicated show and exhibition launching at Art Basel 2007 and meant to showcase the evolution and development of the firm’s design for the new building, while involving the community at the same time.
“We are thrilled to be working with a world-class cultural entity like Miami Art Museum,” says José Reyes, Creative Director of Turbulence. “With so much growth in the arts in South Florida and an emerging crop of great young home grown artists, the opportunity to help position MAM as the epicenter of the art world in South Florida and an international force is a great opportunity for a creative company like us. It just feels right since we have so many artists and creative people working with us on a daily basis. Art is in our blood.”
