Mobile ESPN expands retail distribution to Sprint Stores.

Mobile ESPN announced the expansion of its bricks-and-mortar retail distribution outlets to include at least 500 Sprint (NYSE:S) retail stores in the United States and Puerto Rico. Sprint retail stores will offer Mobile ESPN products and services by July.

Since its February 5 launch, Mobile ESPN has been available exclusively in retail locations through Best Buy stores nationwide, at www.mobileespn.com and by calling 1-800-GET-ESPN. These channels will continue to offer Mobile ESPN with the addition of Sprint retail stores.

“Incorporating Sprint retail stores into our distribution strategy allows Mobile ESPN to reach customers in an environment strictly committed to meeting their wireless voice and data needs,” said Manish Jha, senior vice president and general manager, Mobile ESPN. “The availability of Mobile ESPN at Sprint retail stores also provides an unparalleled option for those wireless consumers who are avid sports fans and want a dedicated sports content experience.”

Jeff Auman, vice president, retail stores for Sprint, said: “The ESPN brand is a strong complement to Sprint’s innovative portfolio of wireless data products and services in our stores. As Sprint continues to expand its distribution capabilities, and customer demand for content and data increase, it’s a natural fit for us. The addition of Mobile ESPN provides our customers with access to a unique offering of sports content specifically tailored to the sports fan.”
