Montero Joins Kellogg To Launch Latino Youth Talent Search.

As part of its continuous commitment to celebrate Latino culture, Kellogg has partnered with Ranchera singing sensation Pablo Montero to nurture the next generation of Latin music stars through its second annual youth talent search, Las Estrellitas de Kellogg’s.
“I feel honored to be part of Kellogg’s effort to give Latino children across the nation the opportunity to honor their heritage and demonstrate their talent,” said Montero. “I commend Kellogg for encouraging kids to stay true to their culture and have pride in themselves.”
The nationwide talent contest is open between January 24 – March 7, 2005 to kids ages 8-16. A panel of Latin music experts will select one local winner from a pool of 10 finalists during a series of community events being held from April thru June in Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, New York and Phoenix. The panel will evaluate participants on voice, delivery and performance.
“We are proud to provide Latino youth with a platform from which to celebrate their culture,” said Angel Colon, ethnic marketing manager for Kellogg. “We are confident this year’s contest will attract a talented group of kids, who are dedicated to preserving their heritage.”
The six Las Estrellitas winners will win the opportunity to perform as the opening act in the third annual MusiKellogg’s 2005 concert tour, and enjoy a magical seven night combined Walt Disney World Resort and Disney Cruise Line land and sea vacation for four.
To enter the contest, kids must submit an audio cassette, video tape or CD recording of their performance of one song in Spanish, an official entry form, a signed parental consent form and two proofs of purchase of any Kellogg’s products to: Las Estrellitas de Kellogg’s(TM) 2005-Entries, P.O. Box 185129, Battle Creek, MI 49018-5129. Entries must be postmarked by March 7 and received by March 14, 2005.
Kids can also enter at the Kellogg’s El KorreKaminos trailer equipped with karaoke set-up, which will visit select retail stores in Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami and Phoenix.
