Moroch Expands.

Moroch Partners is expanding its sales promotion and event marketing capabilities and fortifying its Hispanic marketing unit by announcing new management roles.

Andrew Christy, 40, is joining Moroch Partners as director of promotions and event marketing from Leo Burnett Hong Kong, where he was managing director of Star Reach Marketing Communications, a specialty unit that provided turn key planning and execution of promotion and event marketing. With nearly 20 years of marketing experience, Christy will concentrate on enhancing Moroch’s below-the-line capabilities, setting up a resource base and developing new accounts.

“Across the U.S., we are already developing hundreds of promotions and events per year. Clients increasingly need to ‘activate’ their brands to the consumer and trade in an experiential way,” said Pat Kempf, CEO of Moroch. “Andrew is a proven global thinker on blue chip clients. With us now working on P&G, he is a great find. He is committed to accountability and has activated brands brilliantly across a broad spectrum of contact points.”

Christy was with Leo Burnett in Asia for nine years where he founded the Marketing Services Division and developed business-building programs for Procter & Gamble, Philip Morris and Kellogg. One of his campaigns for P&G’s Pert Plus was named ad campaign of the year in China.

Hector Perez, 37, has been named director of La Embajada, Moroch’s Hispanic marketing unit. He joins from Ad Americas in Los Angeles, and brings 14 years of experience. While most recently focusing on the McDonald’s business, his experience extends across automotive, financial services and food.

“Hector was one of the champions of McDonald’s successful Fiesta Menu in the western US, which created significant growth,” said Kempf. “Importantly, though, he can also take us into new categories,” Kempf noted. Perez’s experience also includes Ford’s Lincoln Mercury division, Kraft, Western Union, Nabisco, Valvoline and Sprint. “He is respected by clients because of his success on ‘high growth’ teams. We looked at a lot of candidates before finding Hector. We were determined to get leadership experience that was proven and outstanding in quality.” Kempf added.

Jack Phifer, formerly director of Client Services, has been named Managing Director, overseeing business development and strategic planning. Christy’s promotion team and La Embajada will also report to Phifer. Recently, Moroch Partners also added John Thomas as an EVP in the Chicago office. Thomas will focus on further developing relationships with Moroch’s partner, Leo Burnett, as well as clients shared by the two companies.
