MTV TR3´S & Chevrolet present ‘RALLY MTV’.

“RALLY MTV” a multi-market, action packed eight-episode series that follows five up-and-coming bands across Latin America in their quest for stardom, the chance to win their own personalized Chevrolet automobile and have a music video aired on MTV Tr3´s, MTV Latin America and MTV Brazil will premiere on MTV Tr3´s Wednesday, August 8th at 5:30 PM.

“RALLY MTV” combines the thrill of an international road rally with the excitement of discovering new musical talent as five of the best up-and-coming bands, including Miami’s Guajiro, are pitted in a race throughout Latin America. The competing bands travel throughout performing outrageous stunts in their pursuit to win “RALLY MTV.”

Teams hailing from the U.S., Argentina, Chile, Brazil and Venezuela convene at the starting point in Indiatuba just outside of Sao Paulo, Brazil. They then travel through Brazil, hop to Chile for a taste of more rugged terrain and then drive clear across Argentina for the finale in Buenos Aires. The first band to arrive at the concert stage in Buenos Aires will be announced the winner of “RALLY MTV” as well as get to play in front of thousands of new fans and record label executives for a chance to score a record deal and launch their career.

“MTV Tr3´s viewers are passionate about emerging artists and ‘RALLY MTV’ is another way we are giving our audience a first look at the hottest emerging Latino talent in the U.S. and Latin America,” said Lily Neumeyer, VP of Programming and Production for MTV Tr3´s.

Guajiro, the band representing the U.S. in “RALLY MTV,” has its origins in the Miami community of Hialeah. Its hard-core punk laced with Latin percussion produces a sound that reflects their bicultural, Spanglish lifestyle. Band members give MTV Tr3´s viewers an insider’s look at the race and introduce the other bands competing in “RALLY MTV” Zombie (Argentina), Motores (Brazil), Sonica (Venezuela) and Tarzanes (Chile) in “RALLY MTV Casting Special,” on Wednesday, August 1st at 5:30 PM.

“RALLY MTV” is a collaboration between MTV Tr3´s, MTV Latin America, MTV Brazil and Chevrolet. Last year Chevrolet created the annual Chevy Latin Music Award and who knows maybe one day hopes to bestow that honor to the winners of “RALLY MTV.”

MTV Tr3´s will also broadcast a special Labor Day “RALLY MTV Holiday Block” on September 3rd and a “Rally MTV Weekend Marathon” leading to the final episode on September 29th.
