mun2 announced a new programming strategy for 2009 focused on its prime time line up. The network will launch a new prime time block under the title “7th Street Leads you to mun2,” increasing the total hours of original and acquired programming with new original productions, serialized content, concerts, movies, news specials and interactive shows.
mun2 announced four new studio properties and the premiere of Telemundo’s hit novela “Sin Senos No Hay Paraíso,” while it continues to innovate with interactive entertainment with the launch of “What Up PPL” and “Reventon Countdown.”
“2008 was a milestone year for mun2 in terms of significant audience growth, adding one-third more audience in Primetime and delivering triple-digit growth on Weekends,” said Alex Pels, General Manager of mun2. “The network is positioned to continue its success in 2009 with more innovative and relevant programming for bilingual Latinos.”
“We are very excited about our upcoming 2009 season as we focus on the new prime time block,” added Flavio Morales, VP of Programming, mun2. “mun2’s new programming lineup will reenergize the grid and bring our viewers a continuous variety of quality programs as we evolve and adapt to their preferences.”

ECW (Launch airdate: January 9)
ECW will bring a new level of entertainment to mun2’s 2009 line-up and comes on the heels of the unprecedented success of WWE’s RAW on mun2.
“What UP PPL” (Launch airdate: January 19—Primetime, Mondays 7-8PM))
This weekly hour show is for the “ppl” about the “ppl” and spinning the tunes the ppl want. It’s a new experience for interactive entertainment on the TV screen. The “ppl” (viewers) communicate and connect via holamun2.com. Their direct comments and dedications appear straight onto the screen. Mix in the hits the “ppl” request and you have “What UP PPL.”
“Crash and Yasmin Uncensored” (Launch airdate: January 20—Primetime Tuesdays 9-10pm
Crash and Yasmin open up about their lives and the adventures of being smart and stylish young women, kicking down knowledge on friends, enemies and love, checking out exclusive clips and giving the viewers an inside look into a chicas-centric approach to life. This hour highlights Crash and Yasmin’s distinct personalities, the provocative experiences from their lives and the adventures that all fashion conscious, trendsetting viewers can relate to.
“Reventon Countdown” (Launch airdate: January 22—Primetime Thursdays 9-10pm
“Reventon Countdown” brings viewers the hottest 10 videos in regional Mexican pop music. With Yarel Ramos as the host, the one-hour show allows audiences to vote for their favorite regional Mexican music videos by submitting their picks on the network’s website holamun2.com. “Reventon Countdown” will also deliver the latest entertainment news within the genre. The top videos are selected through sales charts, radio play and video votes.
“One Nation” (revamped) (Launch airdate: January 23 Fridays 9-10pm)
Urban music is no longer an East Coast-West Coast thing. Join mun2 host Yasmin as she brings viewers the new generation of artists from Bachata, R&B, as well as Hip-Hop’s luminaries. “One Nation” is THE weekly stop for all things Hip-Hop and now.
“Sin Senos No Hay Paraíso” (Launch airdate: January 26—Monday-Thursday Primetime at 10pm)
mun2 takes the popular Telemundo telenovela and gives it a mun2 spin by adding English subtitles and special hosted segments within the broadcast, giving an irreverent perspective as well as taking viewer comments submitted via holamun2.com.
