mun2 expanded its programming line-up announcing the debut of its reality show entitled, The mun2 Hook Up. Focusing on the career aspirations of Latino youth, the half-hour series hooks up young Latinos by matching them with top Latino professionals in their industry of choice. Being faced with challenges that put their true skills to a test and with the guidance of the experts, including celebrities, athletes, rock stars, and influential leaders, these young apprentices explore, and get a new appreciation for the realities behind a successful career. The mun2 Hook Up airs Wednesday July 30th at 10pm.
“Today’s generation of young Latinos is extremely aware of their growing role in their culture,” says Flavio Morales, VP of Programming at mun2. “The mun2 Hook Up offers a great opportunity for young Latinos to speak directly to their role models and receive invaluable advice. Through this new show filled with professional and personal challenges, we hope to empower young Latinos to continue pursuing their dreams.”
In anticipation of the on-air premiere, viewers can visit holamun2.com/hookup to watch the complete first episode of The mun2 Hook Up on Tuesday July 29th, one day prior to the on-air premiere. Every following episode will have a dual-screen premiere, streaming simultaneously on-air and on-line.
mun2 conducted a groundbreaking study showing that high on the list of aspirations for young Latinos is to be financially successful (66%) as well as proud to say they are Latino (70%). Also ranking high in their lists were being passionate (81%) and hardworking (80%). The mun2 Hook Up sheds a light on each of these aspirations by challenging participants with tasks and tests from top experts who understand first hand what it takes to succeed as a professional in the US. These challenges allow the apprentices to test their own skills by facing their strengths and weaknesses in hopes of proving that they have what it takes to succeed in their careers.
“mun2 is about celebrating the culture of young Latinos,” says Alex Pels, General Manager of mun2. “As part of this commitment, we seek to offer programming that provides our aspiring audience with an inspirational experience, and The mun2 Hook Up sets a perfect example of this by addressing our audience’s ambitions in a unique and entertaining manner.”
Launching Wednesday July 30th at 10pm, the mun2 Hook Up will be hooking up various ambitious novices with experts including NFL star Tony Gonzalez, ex-La Ley frontman and music superstar Beto Cuevas, top designer Sami Hayek, member of the multi-platinum group The Cheetah Girls Sabrina Bryan and many more.
“The mun2 Hook Up focuses on celebrating the ambitions and aspirations of Latino youth,” says Beto Cuevas. “Having this next generation of young Latinos spend a day with their role models is truly empowering and I’m excited to be a part of this educational and inspirational project.”
