mun2 television was honored with two Emmy nominations under the categories of Public Affairs and Art Direction. The nominations were announced Saturday October 23rd by the Suncoast Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.
The Voting Rights episodes of “Chat,” produced by Richard Marchosky and Graciela Bracaccini, were two consecutive shows devoted to the 2004 Presidential Election and the importance of exercising one’s right to vote. These episodes were nominated under the Public Affairs category, which recognizes programs that portray an issue or current-event oriented non-news broadcast designed to address topics of genuine public interest.
“The Report”, nominated under the category of Art Direction, is a news alternative show that delivers a daily 15-minute update on various topics of importance to a young, Latino audience such as entertainment, politics, sports and current events. Alvaro Krupkin, Director of Creative Services for mun2 was responsible for the art direction of “The Report,” and gave the show’s graphic elements (opening, headlines, bumpers, transitions, etc…) a consistently modern and dynamic look. In addition, the program’s interactivity is emphasized graphically using a banner display of viewer opinions sent via text messages.
“Our team of producers and directors work hard to produce quality programming for today’s generation of young Latinos,” said Yolanda Foster, Vice President of Programming at mun2. “We’re honored to receive this recognition for the second year in a row.”
