MundoFox announces East Coast Bureau Based in N.Y.

Noticias MundoFox announced the opening of its New York City based news bureau to serve the East Coast. Leading the bureau is Peggy Carranza, who will serve as a Spanish-language contributor to MundoFox’s national news division, providing daily news segments from the East Coast geared toward viewers nationally.

“Having an East Coast bureau solidifies our position as a truly national news program,” said Jorge Mettey, Senior Vice President of News. “Peggy’s diverse journalistic experience in the industry brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to our team; she is the perfect individual to aid in our expansion to the East Coast.”

Prior to joining MundoFox, Ms. Carranza was a correspondent for TV Martí and Univision in New York. She was also the host of Noticias GenTV for the Caracol network, where she specialized in covering national and international politics and economics. Carranza has national level experience in the industry, as a reporter, writer and producer for both the Telemundo national newscast and “Al Rojo Vivo,” one of the highest rated shows on Hispanic TV in the U.S. She began her journalistic career in Chicago where she served as a newscaster for Telefutura and a health reporter for Univision.
