Muñiz named VP of News at Telemundo Area de la Bahia.

Telemundo Area de la Bahia announced the appointment of Juan Miguel Muñiz as Vice President of News effective immediately. In his new role, Muñiz will be responsible for managing the station’s news operations including the planning and production of news. Muñiz will report directly to Erika Diaz, Station Manager.

Muñiz joins Telemundo Area de la Bahia from Telemundo Puerto Rico, where he served as Vice President of News since 2007. During his tenure at Telemundo Puerto Rico, Muñiz worked on managing both the editorial and administrative duties of the Island’s top rated newscasts, including story assignments, staff scheduling, hiring, and evaluating workflow efficiencies.  Earlier, Muñiz worked at CNN en Español as a producer and reporter from 1997-2004. He also supervised the operations of CNNEE’s Los Angeles Bureau where he planned and executed news coverage for such events as the Oscar’s, the Grammy’s and Cannes Film Festival, among many others.
